Sulfur powder can improve concrete strength

The main component of industrial sulphur powder is sulphur, which can be used in chemical medicine and even planting industry, showing a wide range of applications. Sulfur powder is used in various aspects such as electronic semiconductors, medical drugs, industrial ceramics, and building materials in our daily life.

In the electronics industry, people can use sulfur powder to make phosphors for various TV picture tubes.

In papermaking, sulfur powder bleaching is also a mainstream bleaching method.

In medical treatment, sulfur powder is even more effective, and sulfur powder is currently used in many medical drugs.

In agricultural planting, sulfur powder is widely used in the production of pesticides. Many acaricides and professional crop fungicides are made of sulfur powder, because sulfur powder is used for the control of plant powdery mildew and spider mites. Especially effective.

Sulfur concrete is mainly composed of sulfur and coarse and fine aggregates, and a small amount of toughening agent is added. It has good corrosion resistance and compactness, the compressive strength of 48h can reach more than 40MPa, and it can reach 65% of the ultimate strength within half an hour of pouring.

Sulfur concrete is a new type of building material, which was successfully developed in my country for the first time in 1965 and listed in the national standard (TJ212-76) in 1976.

Sulfur is the cementing material of sulfur concrete. It is a light yellow solid at room temperature, with a relative density of 2.07, a melting point of 112.8 °C and a boiling point of 444.6 °C. At different temperatures, it will form different allotropes and different states of solid, liquid and gas. In the process of melting, cooling and solidification of pure sulfur, when it is transformed from monoclinic sulfur (Sb) to orthorhombic sulfur (Sa), the volume shrinks and shrinkage stress is formed. In order to prevent and reduce the transformation of monoclinic sulfur to orthorhombic sulfur, a small amount of polysulfide rubber was added to the sulfur as a toughening agent to modify it, and the dosage was 1.7% to 3.3.

The coarse and fine aggregate and composition of sulfur concrete are related to the molding process. The coarse aggregate should be 2-4cm stone, of which 1-2cnvjx stone should not exceed 15%. The amount of sulfur concrete material per cubic meter is about: industrial sulfur powder 550-600kg, stone powder 350-400kg, polysulfide rubber 23-48kg, coarse aggregate 1400-1600kg.

Sulfur concrete is a thermoplastic material, and the construction method is very different from ordinary concrete. It mainly adopts the heating pouring molding process. Sulfur should first be melted and dehydrated at a temperature of 130-150t, and then added to the powder; the aggregate should also be heated, generally not exceeding 60°C. The thickness of each layer of stones shall not exceed 40cm and pouring holes shall be reserved. The pouring process cannot be interrupted, and the horizontal construction joints of each layer should be exposed to stones so as to be joined with the previous layer.

Although sulfur powder plays a significant role in improving the quality of concrete, the price of sulfur powder is relatively high, and the supply of polysulfide rubber is also difficult. Therefore, although sulfur concrete has been successfully developed for more than 50 years, it has not been popularized and applied so far.
